Welcome

Welcome to Del Bonita's Ghost Town website.  If you like rebuilt ghost towns we are a must to visit!  Come and see our refurbished historical stores; one of the first pioneer "malls" attached together in the 1920's.  It consists of the Huey Gum building, Red & White Store, first Oil Shed of Whiskey Gap, and The Fisher's Store; later called John's Hardware.  They are now being converted to an Inn & Museum, Eclectic Effects Antiquities & Oddities, Miniature Dollhouse Exhibit, Design Studio, and a Bed & Breakfast in the farmhouse.  Two more buildings being converted are the teacherages that used to house the principal and teachers from the Del Bonita School.  They will be converted to a studio and rental house for anyone who would like to enjoy the quiet for longer periods of time.

The Huey Gum Restaurant/ Pool Hall and Rooms was moved to Del Bonita from Whiskey Gap.  It is now being converted back to its original form after being used as a garage for many years.  This building will host a small cafe and pioneer rooms when completed and will be used to host miniaturists for workshop retreats.  If you are interested in a miniature workshop ?  See what is upcoming.

The Red & White Store is now operating as Eclectic Effects.  A unique store carrying an eclectic mix of everything including antiquities from ancient Egypt or the Roman Empire; oddities from all eras and miniatures.  If you enjoy interesting items from every era this is the place to shop!

The Whiskey Gap Oil Shed was one of the first buildings from Whiskey Gap which is now an empty ghost town.  It will be used for refinishing antiques and building large sculpture projects.  If you have any questions or comments please contact us.

The next building was built on site as The Fisher Store and later changed to John's Hardware.  It will be the last building to be refinished as it was going to be used for Joanne's studio but one of the teacherage houses is now converted for that purpose.  It is also the building which needs the most structural work.

The pioneer house, which is attached but not shown in the picture, will become a bed and breakfast.  Email us for more information as the target date to have this up and running is summer 2010.

The two teacherage houses are being converted to a studio and a weekly retreat home.  The one teacherage will be available to rent weekly in 2011 for a quiet get-a-way; sleeps 6.

If you enjoy history of the old west and the prairies see this site or visit our museum which will display alot of local history.
